It is the most searched corridor in Thane and the one we get asked about most, so here is the balanced version.
In its favour: it links the Eastern and Western Express Highways, has the widest spread of projects across every budget in Thane, and the social infrastructure is genuinely built out with schools, hospitals and malls. Metro Line 4 is under construction along the corridor with stations planned at Kasarvadavali, Vijay Garden, Dongripada and Kapurbawdi, and Metro Line 5 towards Bhiwandi and Kalyan is targeted for December 2026, interchanging at Kapurbawdi.
Against it: traffic on the corridor has been the standing complaint for years, and the road widening work has been disruptive while under way. Water supply and drainage have been recurring civic issues in parts of the stretch.
Our short version: if you plan to use the metro once it opens, buy as close to a confirmed station as your budget allows, Kapurbawdi first. If you drive to Mumbai every morning, sit in the traffic yourself at 8:30 on a weekday before you sign anything.
It depends heavily on the pocket, from around 6,000 rupees per square foot in the budget belts to over 22,000 in premium areas like Pokhran Road. Every listing here shows the total price, not the rate.
Thane West holds most of the residential inventory, the retail and the schools. Thane East is closer to the station and generally cheaper per square foot, with older stock.
For a long hold, yes, and the metro is the reason, though it is not running yet. Buy near a confirmed station rather than merely on the corridor, and see the traffic in person first.
